A permanently installed backup generator from Current Electric and Generac provides all of the electricity you'll need during a power outage. Your sump pump will still run. Your internet connection will still be on. You'll be able to tune into TV and internet sources to keep up with bad weather or emergencies. Your lights will be lit, and appliances will work. For many of the most vulnerable in our communities, electrically powered medical equipment will still operate. In the coldest and hottest times, furnaces and air conditioning will still be on.
- We're all in Southeastern Wisconsin. Generac is in Waukesha. Current Electric is in Wauwatosa. Our customers are everywhere from Grafton to Racine, the 3rd Ward to Oconomowoc, and Brookfield. We all have the same weather. We all know that power goes out at the absolute worst times. When it's 95 degrees and a storm is going through, or when it's minus 20 degrees and a car slides into a power line. Power tends to fail when it is in its highest demand. Our customers don't risk the safety of their homes or the comfort of their families during a power outage. No matter how long the outage lasts, your new generator from Current Electric will quietly deliver clean power to your home, as if nothing was wrong.
- Electricity is not an option in homes anymore, it's a dire necessity. A lit home during a power outage is the safest home. A home with a standby generator from Current Electric doesn't risk a flooded basement due to the sump pump not operating. A home with a Generac generator and a security system stays secure.
"I have hired Current to do several electrical jobs at my home over the years. Each time, I have been very happy with the service. Communication with the company is excellent, the prices are very fair, and the technicians have always been friendly and professional. They have done good work, and clearly explained the work they have needed to do. I could not recommend them more strongly.”
“They were able to accommodate my request to call me 45 min before the appointment, they met me at the time specified, they did a fair assessment of effort required and when they completed the job faster then expected they were honest and refunded me the difference. In summary: Great customer service, efficient installation, courteous and honest service technicians.”
“Every electrician Current has sent to our home over the years has been pleasant & courteous. They are always willing to explain in detail what they are doing & why. Work always has a professional look when completed. For a number of years, we've only used Current for electrical work. Based on this experience, we will continue to do so.”
We Can Service and Repair Your Equipment Too!
If you already have a generator installed, regardless of what brand, we can service and repair your equipment too! Our trusted superhero electricians will inspect the system and determine the best course of action. Because no one wants to be in the dark, we provide a thorough explanation of all of the work we're proposing and honest pricing upfront.
It varies so much from home to home. We'll need to consider your power demands. For example, a homeowner with a 1,500-square-foot home, window air conditioner, gas stove, and Silverado in the garage is very different than the same home with central air, an electric stove, and a Tesla in the garage.
As a rule of thumb, your generator needs will start at your home's square footage, times 3. A 2500-square-foot home will need a 7500-watt backup generator at a minimum.
Beyond the minimum, we need to consider how much of your home you want powered in an emergency power outage. All of it? Some of it?
One of the most common options is to match the generator to the total size of your electrical service. A standby generator that is 20,000 - 24,000 watts can power an entire 200amp electrical service. You'll have your whole home powered when the power goes off, just as if the power was on.
Additional considerations - how much distance between the generator and your gas or propane lines? How much distance from the generator to your electrical panel? Is the home's electrical system in generally good shape or are repairs needed to make your new Generac Generator safe and efficient?
All of these considerations need to be accounted for to come up with a usable estimate. Online estimators don't do these calculations, and this leads to customers being shocked by the difference between the estimate and the actual cost. To avoid this disappointment, we ask that you contact us, and let's just have a no-stress, no-pressure, completely free conversation about your home, your needs, and a standby generator that will fit your budget.
